US Lawmakers Identify Six Potentially Incriminated Names in Epstein Files

(MENAFN) Two US lawmakers said Monday they identified at least six names that were redacted in Justice Department documents on convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, despite indications that the individuals could be connected to criminal activity.

Representatives Thomas Massie, a Republican from Kentucky, and Ro Khanna, a Democrat from California, made the comments after reviewing the files following a law requiring their release, according to reports.

Massie noted the presence of “at least six men that have been redacted that are likely incriminated by their inclusion in these files.”

“We went in there for two hours. There’s millions of files, right? And in a couple of hours, we found six men whose names have been redacted who are implicated in the way that the files are presented,” he told reporters.

The lawmakers did not disclose the identities of those involved, but indicated that one appeared to be a senior foreign government official while others were prominent figures. They expressed concern that the redactions might conflict with the law they helped pass last year, which allows document exemptions only in narrow cases, such as protecting survivors or classified information.

“None of this is designed to be a witch hunt. Just because someone may be in the files doesn’t mean that they’re guilty,” Khanna said. “But there are very powerful people who raped these underage girls. It wasn’t just Epstein and (Ghislaine) Maxwell.”

Massie added that he would not publicly release the names himself, urging the Justice Department to review the redactions and address any potential errors.
